In-Line Automatic Sampling System Based API MPMS 8.2 / ASTM D4177 / ISO 3171
An in-line automatic sampling system is ideal for process pipelines ranging from 4” to 52” and uses an in-line insertion sampling probe with the option of an integrated mixing system. The sampling probe is designed to operate under pipeline conditions and is ideal for systems that only require sample collection of crude oil or refined products, provided that the process conditions are mechanically suitable for proper operation.
The sampling probe is inserted into the center third of the main pipeline and is available in fixed or retractable mounting versions. The product sample is captured and discharged by positive displacement through a small-bore tubing line with a continuous downward slope (to prevent water traps) into a sample receiver.
The sample receiver can be housed inside a protected enclosure designed to store multiple sample receivers, integrated with a weighing system and different solenoid valves for sample container switching control and safety functions. The SAMPLEX™ weighing system continuously measures the weight of each receiver throughout the entire batch to calculate the sampling system performance, as specified in ISO 3171 / ASTM D4177.
The system is integrated with a sampling controller which, using flow signals, regulates sample collection proportionally to the flow rate through the sampling system.
